단순한 형태의 기물을 가마 안에 넣어 소성시킨다. 그러면 탄소를 유리시켜 표면의 색깔을 변화시키는 일, 점토에 함유된 철분을 드러내주어 강조하는 일, 천연 유약을 틈 사이에 고이게 하는 일 등을 포함한 나머지 작업을 불이 다 알아서 한다. 손으로 잡으면 용기와 교감하는 즐거움을 느낄 수 있다.
The firing process takes my simple forms and does a lovely job of doing the rest? trapping carbon on the surface, highlighting the iron present in the clay, or pooling natural glaze in a crevice. Held by hand, my work is created to bring a joy to the interaction.
