실내 공간에 전시될 설치작품과 야외에 전시될 대규모 설치작품을 제작할 때 나는 나의 온 몸을 사용하여 점토 덩어리를 성형한다. 율동적으로 몸을 움직이면서 작업에 몰입하다 보면 나와 흙 사이에 친밀한 관계가 형성된다. 점토를 늘리고 부수는 과정 속에서 나의 신체 자국이 깊게 각인되면서 점토라는 물질의 가소성이 가감 없이 표현된다.
In my indoor installations and monumental works on outdoor locations, I form masses of clay with my entire body. By working in rhythmical absorption, an intimate relation takes shape between experience and earth. Stretching and tearing, deep imprints of body parts, express the plasticity of the material in all its rawness.
